PTE Summarize Group Discussion template (2026)
The new August-2025 task explained — how to take notes on a 3-person discussion and summarize it in 40 seconds.
How it works
Introduced on 7 August 2025. You hear a group discussion (up to ~3 minutes, typically three speakers), get about 10 seconds to prepare, then 40 seconds to summarize it.
Note-taking
Track the topic and each speaker's main view, plus any agreement or decision. Use short tags (S1, S2, S3) so you can attribute views quickly.
Template
- Topic: "The group discussed…"
- Views: "One speaker argued… while another felt…"
- Outcome: "Overall, they agreed / were divided on…"
Capture the range of opinions, not every detail. Fluency and coverage of the main views matter most.
