1. Sample Text 1 — Vaccination and Immunity

Vaccines train the immune system to recognise and combat specific pathogens without causing the disease itself. Most vaccines introduce a harmless version or component of the pathogen — such as an inactivated virus or a protein from its surface — allowing the immune system to develop antibodies. These antibodies provide rapid protection if the person later encounters the real pathogen.

Incorrect words — audio says: “fight” not “combat”; “weakened” not “inactivated”; “defence” not “protection”

See italic note above.

2. Sample Text 2 — The Carbon Cycle

Carbon moves continuously through Earth’s atmosphere, oceans, land, and living organisms in the carbon cycle. Plants remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through photosynthesis, storing carbon in their tissues. When organisms die and decompose, carbon is returned to the soil and atmosphere. The combustion of fossil fuels releases carbon that has been stored underground for millions of years, disrupting the natural balance.

Incorrect words — audio says: “absorb” not “remove”; “wood” not “tissues”; “burning” not “combustion”
